Services for Parent and Child
Theraplay
Theraplay is used to support and strengthen the relationship between the child and parent. The aim of these programmes is to improve communication, support a secure attachment and reduce parental stress. It encourages positive experiences and the creation of pleasant memories that can be transferred into the family home life. Building attachment, self- esteem, trust in others and joyful engagement is central to the success of this programme.
First Friends Parent and Child Group
The group offers a welcome environment to parents/carers and children aged under 2 years living in our catchment area. It is aimed at those who are feeling isolated and in need of support in parenting their child. The group is facilitated by My Project in conjunction with Barnardos.
Circle of Security Parenting Programme
The Circle of Security Parenting program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. Using the COS-P model developed by the Circle of Security originators, our trained facilitators work with parents and care-givers to help them to:
- Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs
- Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
- Enhance the development of their child’s self esteem
Odyssey Parenting Your Teen
